About Us
Our Clients
We represent managers raising funds with targets of $250 million
or above, for non-liquid alternative asset investment strategies
including buyouts, venture capital, mezzanine and distressed debt,
real estate, and special situations. Ideally, the new fund represents
a sponsor's second or later investment pool, although teams
spinning out from established groups will also be considered. Generally,
prior funds have been mostly invested, distributions have been significant,
and realized IRRs and times capital returned are top quartile for
the asset class and vintage years. Fortress Group looks for fund
managers who will make meaningful personal investments in their
new fund, and it is critical that the deal team that created the
sponsor's track record remains intact.
Investor Relationships
We have developed strong investor relationships over many years
and are in constant communication with alternative asset investors
around the world and the consultants who advise them, including
many of the largest corporate and public pension funds, endowments
and foundations, fund-of-fund managers, insurance companies, banks,
family offices and high net worth individuals. We have particularly
strong investor relationships in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia, as
well as contacts in the Middle East and Far East.
Services Offered
We offer a comprehensive array of services and are committed to
all aspects of the fundraising process, including: business development;
due diligence; structuring terms; preparing marketing and due diligence
materials; developing and implementing a customized marketing program;
and handling ongoing investor relations. We consider each assignment
unique and tailor our marketing approach to capitalize on the strengths
of the fund given prevailing market conditions.
Focused Approach
Limiting the number of concurrent assignments enables us to devote
senior-level attention to each client in every step of the fundraising
process and sustain capital raising momentum in the marketplace.
Our senior professionals are directly involved in all aspects of
each fundraising assignment - from initial due diligence, to project
management, distribution, and the final closing. Our process is
highly organized to reduce the fund manager's fundraising
burden and allow the GP to devote more time to managing its businesses
for the benefit of the limited partners.
Flexibility
We are flexible in our ability to provide all or part of our services
in each assignment and can be involved with a fund from the inception
stages or commence our work after first closing has taken place.
In certain cases we have worked alongside a fund's internal
marketing professionals to “top off” a fundraise or
target a specific universe of potential investors.
Investor Relations Services
We extend our marketing and relationship services beyond the completion
of the fundraise by keeping current and potential limited partners
updated on significant milestones relating to our general partner
clients. |

Emphasis on Long-Term Relationships
Fortress believes in complete involvement with our clients
and places particular emphasis on long-term relationships.
Prior to entering a relationship with a client we conduct
extensive due diligence on the organization and background
of the firm and its principals, looking beyond the track record
and current fund strategy. Because a successful fundraise
depends on a close working relationship between the general
partner and placement agent, the ability of both parties to
work together on consecutive fundraises dramatically increases
the odds of success.
Since Fortress Group's inception, all of our clients that
have returned to market have sought out our services for their
follow-on funds. |
